History of the workshop & Past events

The 1st Workshop on Recommender Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning (RecSysTEL) builds upon the tradition of a series of workshops on Social Information Retrieval for Technology Enhanced Learning (SIRTEL), Context-Aware Recommendation for Learning and Towards User Modelling and Adaptive Systems for All (TUMAS-A).

The SIRTEL workshop series has been organised once a year since 2007 and it has resulted in one Special Issue and three workshop proceedings:

  • - 1st SIRTEL'07 Workshop on Social Information Retrieval for Technology-Enhanced Learning & Exchange (Vol. 307). CEUR Workshop proceedings.
  • - 2nd SIRTEL'08 Workshop on Social Information Retrieval for Technology Enhanced Learning (Vol. 382). CEUR Workshop proceedings.
  • - 3rd SIRTEL'09 Workshop on Social Information Retrieval for Technology Enhanced Learning (Vol. 535). CEUR Workshop proceedings.

The Context-Aware Recommendation for Learning explore recommendation for learning, with specific focus on recommendation based on contextual information of the learner. The outcomes are are available from the web site.

The TUMAS-A series of workshops aim to foster the research in learning environments that provide a personalized, accessible and ubiquitous support for their users (e.g. learners, facilitators, professors) using the appropriate technologies and standards. Three TUMAS-A workshops have also been organised once a year since 2007:
