Submission Info

UPDATED info:
Papers will be published online as part of the CEUR Workshop proceedings series. CEUR-WS.org is a recognised ISSN publication series, with ISSN 1613-0073. Extended versions of workshop papers will be also invited to a post-proceedings volume to be published by Springer.

The main session of the Workshop will be based on paper presentations. The following types of paper contributions are requested:

  • academically oriented contributions, i.e. a long paper
  • practice and demonstration oriented contributions, i.e. a short paper with focus on demonstration or evaluation
  • dataTEL Challenge submissions, explicitly requesting descriptions of TEL data sets available for experimentation

All submissions will be evaluated by at least three reviewers from an international Program Committee that will be set up for this purpose and include experts from both the RecSys and the EC-TEL communities. Accepted papers will be clustered according to the topics addressed (four such clusters are foreseen for a full day event). Each cluster (workshop session) will contain about 4-5 papers, and each of them will be presented by one of its authors. Each workshop session will be coordinated by a co-chair.

The selected contributors will be given the floor to provide a demo of their running systems through a "TEL RecSys Marketplace", during which participants will be able to walk around the room, watching the system demos and discussing with the system developers. Furthermore, the dataTEL challenge submissions will be discussed during a special dataTEL Cafe. A best dataTEL award will also be given to a data set that will be selected from the Program Committee.

All presentations from Workshop participants will be made available online through the Workshop Web site.

In more detail, the Workshop accepts a variety of submission types:

  • Full papers: 12 pages
  • Short papers: 6 pages
  • System/service demos: 2 pages
  • TEL Data sets: 2 pages and data set file(s)

Papers should be original and not previously submitted to other venues. All the papers submitted will be reviewed using a blind refeering process by at least two members of the program committee.

Submission is available through the ginkgo submission system: http://ginkgo.cs.upb.de/events/recsystel2012.

For TEL Data Set submissions, please refer to the dataTEL Challenge instructions: http://adenu.ia.uned.es/workshops/recsystel2012/datatel.htm.
